Organic Life Style: Goodies

I don't know about you guys, but I absolutely love salsa and chips. It's the perfect snack and definitely a family favorite. However, I have never bought an organic brand of salsa at the store before and sadly don't always have time to make salsa myself. So I went on a mission...I wanted to eat organically but I didn't want to deprive myself of something I love to eat, all in moderation of course. And I found it, a scrumptious, full of flavor, nice and spicy, not too chunky, organic salsa and at my local HEB of all places. Didn't even have to go to the heath food store. Exciting find. I encourage you guys to go try some. They have mild, medium, and hot to suit how spicy you like your salsa. Enjoy!

Peace guys

Organic Life Style: Small Steps in the Right Direction

I'm not going to say that eating organically is easy. So I'm taking it day by day, one change at a time. Just finding stores that offer organic options is a huge challenge. In culinary school the most important lesson I learned was to make delicious food that not only is healthy for you but also makes your taste buds jump for joy.

The first thing I look for when I'm at the grocery store is the USDA seal.

This seal is very important because to get the organic USDA seal is not easy to do. It means any food product that has the seal has to be regularly inspected. My purchasing class taught me to pay extra attention to labels, say like, if a box says "Natural" that doesn't necessarily mean it's good for you. Just putting the word natural on a box doesn't mean they get inspected regularly like the USDA seal.  Also be careful if you see the word "organic" without the seal, most likely that means there is only a percentage of organic ingredients in the product.

So far my goal is if it is meat/milk/eggs it has to be organically grown, cage free, hormone free and USDA seal approved.
And believe you me that is a big goal to keep. Now don't get me wrong I still have fast food every now and then but thankfully I am passionate about feeding my body with as much raw foods as I can and living a much more healthier and happier life.

Peace guys.

Fashion Flash:

Old Navy Shopping Spree

So I went to old navy this week and hit the jackpot.
I really try to find good bargains and with being a part time student and having a part time job...I'm kind of on a tight budget. Being a grownup is "miserable and magical all at the same time."
Taylor Swift shout out!  But, I digress.
To me if you can find an outfit that is cheap but doesn't look cheap...you've succeeded. Now I still like to buy Nike sport bras for 24.99 each but it's nice to not be broke all the time...just kidding.
So my new additions to my wardrobe are,
#1 a blue cosy Indian aspired shirt.
Some black leggings and a cup of coffee and I'm set.
#2 nothing like a stylish black T and some green linen shorts.
Perfect outfit to hang out with girl friends or to go to the food market.
#3 come on, USA shirt, golden for 4 of July.
#4 last but not least, another workout shirt and only for 8.00$. Can't beat that.
Well I just had to share my awesome finds with you all.

Peace  guys.
