Philly 2015

Last year was an unforgettable year. Mostly because this past Christmas my family and I went to Philadelphia PA. It was my mom's dream to see the Independence Hall and she passed down her love of history to me and my sister. It was an incredible journey and I'm glad I was able to share those beautiful moments with my family. I was so moved by the trip, I decided on the plane home to write down my thoughts as fast as I could, so I would never forget the wonderful experience I had there.

My Journal,

I'm on a plane at this very moment, traveling back home from Philadelphia P.A.
My mind is racing, I can't get my mind off of the beautiful things I saw in Philly.
History jumping out at you at every corner,
Washington Square Park, Independence Hall, Liberty Bell...tons more. I wish I could have stayed there forever.
I think the Independence Hall had the most effect on me. It's a powerful feeling to be in the presence of where history was made. To be standing where those wonderful men stood, risking their lives for freedom, it was truly indescribable. The powerful experience brought tears to my eyes.
God Bless America.
I will be forever grateful for my mom not giving up on me and teaching me about our history whether I wanted to hear it or not.
I learned so many things on this trip, like how to completely plan a trip and all the things that go with it.
I can't even count how many mind blowing experiences we had!
Over all, our trip went splendidly without a hitch...well if we don't count the whole flight being canceled on the way home, causing an 10 hour layover. Little things. A trip of a lifetime...

Now, almost halfway though 2016, I'm thinking about the years past and then I think about the years to come. As I'm sure all of you know we are in an election year. Seeing where it all started. Standing in front of the Independence Hall. Actually walking into the very room where history was made....where our founding fathers wrote and perfected and signed the Declaration of Independence. Their legacy has molded and shaped our country to what it is today.
Having that experience and then to face an election the very next year, truly puts everything into perspective. I hope this county never forgets or gives up the freedoms that our founding fathers fought and died for.
